Purpose: To take the word of God off the printed page and plant into our (parent’s and children’s) hearts, we must make it come alive. Re-enacting a bible account is a great way to achieve that.
Instructions: Read a bible account together from either My Book Bible Studies or Lessons You Can Learn From the Bible or directly from the Bible. Then let the kid’s imagination run wild. A towel or a blanket makes a great robe, shaving cream is a quick beard, stuff animals are perfect as — uhhh animals, plus whatever else they come up with.
These re-enactments or dramas don’t have to be real elaborate or long. Even a very short and simple drama will be exciting and bring the Bible account alive and make it real to the kids.
Discussion: After re-enacting the account, discuss as a family what lessons are learned. What do we learn about Jehovah from this account? Who can we imitate and how?
